In News by Jan

Tone Cluster is looking forward to singing at this year’s MosaiK Choral Festival, sponsored by Harmonia Choir of Ottawa. The festival theme is “Failte –  A Celtic Welcome” with Celtic music from Ireland, Scotland Stan Rogers, and East-Coast music, including a premiere of a new composition based on Robert Burns “Leezie Lindsay”.

When: Saturday, February 21, 7:30 pm
Where: Ecole secondaire publique de la Salle, 501 St Patrick St. Ottawa
Tickets: Concert tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door. Students $10
Available at the door and at The Leading Note, 370 Elgin. Free admission to accompanied children.

The guest conductor and clinician is Canadian composer, teacher, and conductor of the well-known Cantabile Choirs of Kingston —  Dr. Mark Sirett.  He will lead workshops and rehearsals which will culminate in an evening concert where participating choirs will perform their own eclectic programmes, then join in the MosaiK massed choir for a performance of a new arrangement composed and conducted by Dr. Sirett specifically for the festival.

Participating choirs include: the children’s choirs of the Cross Town Youth Chorus, the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, the high school choirs from École De La Salle, the Cumberland Community Singers, the Choir of St Thomas, Tone Cluster, and Harmonia Choir of Ottawa.

Come join us for an evening of beautiful Celtic music.
