President’s Message

In News by David Fowler

Welcome to Tone Cluster’s 2015-2016 season! We’re thrilled to be entering our 22nd season. Our Music Director Kurt Ala-Kantti has a terrific season planned for us with many special surprises in store.

Our first concert of the season on Saturday, December 5, 2015, Upon a Midnight Queer, provides a satisfying blend of songs for the holiday season in some refreshingly original arrangements from a wide array of talented arrangers.

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, the winter thaw welcomes the spring as Tone Cluster presents FINAL CALL (immediate boarding). For this special show, Tone Cluster has invited a multi-talented Ottawa based singer-songwriter to premiere a choral arrangement of one of her own songs…more details to come as the season progresses.

On Saturday, April 30, 2016, it’s the ninth edition of Show Tune Showdown, the musical theatre performance game show to be held at its new location downtown at the De La Salle High School auditorium near the Byward Market. Don’t miss this unique Broadway-themed friendly competition between three teams in front of three celebrity judges. This perennial favourite continues to attract a loyal fan base because the real winner is the audience.

Our concert season wraps up in Ottawa with We Got Issues on Sunday, June 5, 2016. The choir will perform our festival programme in preparation for the GALA Festival in Denver, Colorado in July 2016. With over 6,000 choristers in attendance, the festival promises to be an unforgettable, musically uplifting event for TC. You’ll be the first to hear what we’ll be proudly performing!

To help us raise funds for our trip to Denver, learn more about how you can lend your financial support by visiting our Support Us pages or you could attend one of our many fundraising events. Tone Cluster is a registered charitable organization.

Join us for this exciting season. We would love to see you in the audience.
