Have you got what it takes to join an enthusiastic group of performance oriented singers with a diverse set of repertoire? This auditioned, 35 voice mixed choir is seeking select individuals in all vocal ranges to join the 2016–2017 season of focused rehearsals, challenging workshops with skilled clinicians, engaging fundraisers, amazing concerts and the support of queer community. Artistic Director Kurt Ala-Kantti challenges and inspires this not for profit group with exceptional skill. Come check us out.
We have an eclectic repertoire that’s challenging, engaging and fun to sing. We perform three regular concerts each year along with the opening number at our annual Show Tune Showdown event. We also perform in various community events throughout the year.
For your audition, we invite you to come to one of our regular weekly rehearsals which are Monday nights 7:20pm to 9:30 pm at a local Ottawa church. Auditions to be held on Monday, September 12, 19, and 26.
Sing with us as you familiarize yourself with the music and after the rehearsal ends our Music Director, Kurt Ala-Kantti and our accompanist, Vincent Mar, will take you through a short individual audition to determine your vocal range and to get to know you a bit better.
Kurt will lead you in some vocal exercises and have you sing some of the music from the rehearsal session you just took part in. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask him and a Tone Cluster member about the choir. Sight reading ability is an advantage, but not mandatory.
We promise that you will find out the outcome of your audition within two days.
