Start of a new season – President’s Message

In News by David Fowler

Start of 2016–2017 Season

It’s my honour to have been elected President of Tone Cluster—quite a queer choir. In my 16 years with the choir, my joy in singing is consistently renewed by this fantastic bunch of committed singers and the diverse repertoire that is a signature of the group

Last season we were chosen to perform at one of the elite Coffee Concert’s at GALA 2016 in Denver: we were able to share our joy in meaningful music, excellence and our Tone Cluster family. The excitement of performing for our US queer choir siblings inspires us to this day; our commitment to living out loud and sharing our Canadian love of music is strong and proud!

The 2016–2017 season promises to be another brilliant combination of experiences: with music from many eras of Pop, to many shades of  Broadway and an appreciation of the Earth in between. Artistic Director Kurt Ala-Kantti’s experience directing multiple choral groups and his accomplishments as a performer shine through; he brings profound levels of relevance, humour and beauty to our concerts. A joy to sing and a joy to share.

In addition to being a passionate audience member, you can explore other rewarding ways to share in the Tone Cluster experience: auditioning, donating, and volunteering. Consider rewarding yourself today!

Yours in song and service,

Sarah Wibberley
